The beautiful Harz Mountains are a true paradise for active holidaymakers and nature lovers. Discover the many possibilities around our nature resort and spend an unforgettable active holiday in the Harz Mountains. Whether hiking, cycling, history, half-timbered romance, sport or adventure - there is something for everyone here in the Harz Mountains.
The Harz Mountains not only have natural treasures to offer, as they are considered the cradle of Germany. History has left its mark here. Explore imperial palaces and castle ruins, cathedral treasures and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, half-timbered towns and monasteries, old mines and waterworks, monuments and caves. For thrill-seekers, there are climbing rocks, summer toboggan runs, wall-running on a dam wall or even a flight on the Megazipline, Europe's largest double rope slide.
Whether it's an easy family tour or a challenging hike - the Harz Mountains offer hiking routes for every fitness level and fascinating viewpoints. If you want to take things a little more leisurely, you can try forest bathing. This involves consciously spending time in the forest. The aim is not to achieve a goal, but to immerse yourself in nature with all your senses and recharge your batteries. Listen to the melody of nature, the chirping of the birds and the rustling of the trees. Watch as the sun's rays make their way through the treetops.
Immersing yourself in the forest is not only good for your health, but also an incomparable active holiday in the Harz Mountains, as nature has a positive effect on our mental and physical well-being.
If you like it sporty, you can explore the different faces of the Harz Mountains on two wheels - sometimes breathlessly uphill on steep paths, sometimes energetically downhill. For a varied active holiday in the Harz Mountains, the well-signposted routes of the southern Harz Mountains offer the right challenge for every fitness level.
